I build on Azure for a living. This is where I write about it.
I'm Emil Bolet, Cloud Operations Manager at TDC Erhverv The Foundry, based in Aalborg, Denmark. My day-to-day is strategic direction, team growth, and shipping cloud projects without surprises.
Over the last decade I've worked Microsoft Azure end to end — through roles as a software developer, software architect, and senior cloud architect, and now leadership. Before TDC I was CTO at 2G Cloud, and earlier Senior Cloud Architect at Conmentor/Solita. The path has stayed close to Azure throughout — landing zones, networking, identity, and the long tail of operational details that don't show up in any Microsoft Learn module.
This blog is where some of that work spills over: cloud infrastructure, Azure architecture, and the messy parts of software engineering that don't fit neatly into a tutorial. Most posts come out of real work. I'll hit a problem, spend a few weeks in it, and write the article I wish I'd had at the start. The audience I have in mind is myself, six months ago — competent, but missing context.
You won't find listicles or news roundups here. Just deep technical writing, published every two weeks. Sometimes less when the work is hard.
When I'm not working, I'm with my family in Aalborg.

Where to start
A few posts I'd recommend reading first.

A practical guide to implementing a simplified version of Clean Architecture in .NET, reducing unnecessary complexity while maintaining structure and scalability.
One tenant or many? A practical guide to Microsoft tenant strategy covering identity boundaries, governance, M&A scenarios, and why you almost always want to start with a single tenant.
AKS vs Azure Container Apps vs App Service - A story-driven framework to pick the least platform that ships now without painting yourself into a cluster.
Why “bolet”?
It's my last name. No deeper meaning — I just wanted somewhere to publish under it.
